Power Your System Without Limits
- Multi-Battery Ready: Works with 12V AGM, Flooded, Gel, and Lithium batteries. Simply use the Mode Selection Switch
to choose the correct battery type for flexible and safe upgrades. - Alternator Friendly: Supports both smart and traditional alternators through the 12V starter battery connection.
- Built for Any Setup: Ideal for RVs, vans, boats, and off-grid systems, minimizing compatibility issues and installation effort.
Charge Smarter, Last Longer
- Adaptive Charging for Lithium: Adaptive Charging for Lithium- 2-stage charging safely reactivates over-discharged lithium batteries and charges them to 100%.
- Optimized Lead-Acid Charging: 3-stage charging maximizes battery life and charges to 100%.
Keep Your System Safe
- Smart Circuit Protection: Guards against over-voltage, over- temperature, and reverse polarity to keep your system safe.
- Battery Isolation: Prevents reverse current between batteries, protecting both the starter and auxiliary batteries.
- Peace of Mind: Ensures safe, worry-free operation in RVs, vans, boats, and off-grid systems.
Safe, Reliable Battery Operation
- Engine-Safe Charging: D+ ignition terminal charges only when the engine is running, safeguarding the starter battery.
- Low-Current Mode: LC terminal supports small alternators or weak power sources, preventing system overload.
- Temperature-Adaptive Charging: RJ11 sensor port adjusts voltage for cold or hot environments to extend battery life (not for lithium batteries).*D+, LC cables, and a temperature sensor are not included.

FAQ
Do l need to install an inverter if l only want to charge my boat or Rv battery with a solar panel?
You don’t need an inverter if you’re only charging your battery. However, if you want to use the battery to run different appliances, like a TV or a refrigerator, you need an inverter to convert the DC power to AC power.
Will solar panels work in the winter in my state or province?
Wherever there is sunlight, solar panels will generate electricity. Cooler conditions, like those during the winter, can help improve solar panel performance. Solar panels can still generate electricity in cloudy conditions, just not as efficiently. The panel won't generate any electricity if there is any snow build-up on it, so make sure to keep the panel clear. This goes for any type of obstruction including shade or dirt.
Does my solar panel system require roof penetration?
Solar panels don’t always need a roof penetration for installation. Most times, they can be permanently mounted on the roof using a sealant. Alternatively, they can be installed on the ground.
Can the solar panel drain my battery at night?
If you have a solar charge controller installed in your system, there is no danger of a reverse current draining your battery.
How long will the solar panels last?
The RICH SOLAR MEGA Series solar panels have a performance warranty of 25 years. After 5 years of use, the panels should output more than 95% of the rated power. After 10 years, that output is 90%, and after 25 years, the output should be 80%.
Can the solar module overcharge my battery?
Yes, but only if it’s used without the charge controller, which is why it’s important to always use one when you have a battery.
Can l run my 110V appliances with my solar power system?
Yes, you can run your 110V appliances with your solar power system using an inverter. The inverter connects your solar panel to your battery, converting the DC energy into AC energy, and allowing you to power your appliances.
How to avoid common mistakes in solar panel installation?
Shading: Avoid obstacles that block sunlight. Use shading analysis tools.
Improper Angle: Set panels at a 30–45° tilt facing true south for optimal efficiency.
Wrong Direction: Make sure panels directly face the sun.
Irregular Cleaning: Dirt reduces output—clean panels regularly with soft tools.
Mismatched Equipment: Use compatible panels, batteries, and inverters with matching specs.
Improper Connections: Use high-quality cables and ensure all connections are secure to prevent faults or fire.
